The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping’s Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to take mopping off their to-do list. Some models have superior navigation and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It’s smaller than other models on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I’ve seen in a robotic vacuum. It’s got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It’s fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn’t as impressive. The mop rotates at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and staining. I’ve noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful in tight corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys or books.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I’ve ever used. It doesn’t produce as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It’s simple to install and is effective, but this is something that you’ll need to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and locate furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and intelligently. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively fast.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo’s DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching an array of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the odors.
Another noteworthy feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it must make, which will determine the speed at which the device can traverse your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to protect your carpets from damage. carpets.
This device has a fairly high price tag but comes with a large selection of innovative features. It’s important to remember that it carries periodic costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and comes with a wide variety of physical automation features. It has a power button that can also function as a general ‘Clean button, as well as a ‘Home’ button that will send it back to its base station after finishing the cleaning process. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home clean with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum Mops vacuum and mop, that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping system with microfiber pads that snap in and out of place. It’s a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean you don’t have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan, which it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set “No-Go zones” as well as virtual barriers that help to shield certain areas of your house from being swept with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able to capture some of the hair that our cats shed, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was quiet and even had some nice jingles that signalled when it was beginning or finished its work.
The biggest flaws were its lack of sophistication and the need to switch between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn’t have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which can be a hassle if you have a home with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it also has unique features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni’s main draw is its massive dock that doubles as a charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.
The base comes with a few control buttons that let you manually start cleaning tasks or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off a child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in an obstacle–such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug–that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn’t have a “stuck status” alert in its app.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn’t too bad however, mopping pads don’t get washed or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It’s a significant contrast to the basic black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It’s also an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxes.
